By davide sometti | ottobre 15, 2010

Eddy Huntington, all’anagrafe Edward Huntington, (27 ottobre 1965) è un cantante britannico.

Viene considerato uno dei più famosi artisti pop star della musica Italo disco; molto popolare negli anni ottanta anche in Scandinavia, Europa ed altri paesi.

1. What is for you “italo-disco”?

This is a tricky one and it depends where I am in the world. For many it is only music which comes from Italian labels and with Italian production. For others it includes the stuff from ZYX and German produced Italo. For others they have merged Eurobeat and HINRG. As for me I like all lof those genres and don’t mind where the line is drawn.
2. Do you think that there is a “father” for italo-disco?

For me it has to be Roberto Turatti, but then I am biased…

3. Who is your favourite singer?

Well my favourite singer most people won’t even like and is definately not Italo, (Cliff Richard), but my favourite Italo artist is probably Tom as either Tom or Den (Tom Hooker).

4. Your most famous song I guess that’s “USSR”, do you think that’s your best song?

Not at all, though I do think its great. My favourite is May Day, but I was involved in the production of that one and had lots of input.

5. I travel quite often in East Europe (Russia) and there italo-disco is still popular! I listen quite often to the radio Savage, Tom Hooker, you and others. What do you think about?

This music still sounds great and I’m delighted that somewhere in the world like Russia and Mexico there is still an apetite for this stuff.
